Below we have listed some of the ways employees across Aramark including Zephyr Cove Resort and Lake Tahoe Cruises employees, will be able to experience professional development.

  • Aramark Global Platform — Aramark has a global portfolio of hospitality businesses. Our employees are able to apply for lateral and promotional opportunities geared towards their career aspirations at any of these locations at any time.
  • Step-Up 2 Leadership — This program helps students expand their experience and understanding of operations, businesses, and leadership opportunities within Aramark. The Step-Up 2 Leadership Program is intended to be a feeder program to prepare students for the full-time Accelerate to Leadership Program upon graduation. This is an internship program offered while the students are still in school.
  • Accelerate 2 Leadership — This is our early-leader college hire development program which is to consistently train and develop new hire talent. Our emerging leaders will be given the opportunity to enrich and nourish lives in the communities we serve through hands-on meaningful management experiences. Many participants in the Accelerate 2 Leadership Program come from the Step-Up 2 Leadership Program.
  • Talent Management System — Aramark offers a robust way to develop employees through annual and on-going Developmental Plans, Goal Plans, Mid-Year Reviews, and End of Year Performance Evaluations. This process provides a structure for providing performance-based feedback, establishing and aligning on goals and support their career aspirations.
  • Culinary Development Program this is a three-tiered Culinary Immersion Training Plan & Calendar intended to guide participants step by step on the activities and milestones they should be doing at each phase of the program, in both summary and weekly format. This is a self-paced program with general guidelines each week to ensure that by the end, the employee is prepared to successfully complete the final assessment and graduate the program to potentially attain full time year round employment and promotions.
  • Culinary Internships — Aramark partners and supports college internship programs and follows the designated college curriculum.
  • Ring of Stars, The Best of the Best — General Managers pick from the “best of the best” of their employees to nominate them for the Aramark Ring of Stars. Employees chosen will be honored with a four day celebration as a part of the Annual Ring of Stars and receive a special trip of their choice, a ring to commemorate their accomplishment, and their story posted within a permanent Ring of Stars display. We have had 2 Managers recognized recently for their leadership and contribution of being the “best of the best.”

Participating Programs

Culinary Pre-Apprenticeship Program we have partnered with ADVANCE Career Services department for Lake Tahoe Community College to provide employees college credit through an on the job training model for culinary workers. The employees can receive this benefit if they meet the eligibility requirements. We are working with Lake Tahoe Community College and ADVANCE to help shape development of the new culinary pre-apprenticeship program, if you are interested in more information about earning college credit while on the job let us know.

Culinary Boot-Camp  we sponsor employees to attend ADVANCE Culinary Boot Camp, housed at Lake Tahoe Community College. This opportunity provides aspiring chefs with the skills that they need to set out in the culinary industry. This forty hour course covers knife skills, butchery and baking, kitchen organization and terminology, sanitation, safety, and much more.

ProChef Certification Program at the Culinary Institute of America the CIA ProChef Certification is a three-tiered, comprehensive professional development and culinary proficiency program which measures core culinary, managerial and financial acumen, including a chef's skill in flavor development, proper cooking methods, dish profile authenticity, plating, use of ingredients and sanitation. We are proud to collaborate with The Culinary Institute of America, and we applaud our chefs that have participated on this prominent achievement. These chefs use what they’ve learned to improve culinary operations and provide training to their staff, so they can deliver on Aramark’s mission of enriching and nourishing the lives of our students, customers, clients and consumers.

Leadership Development and Department Specific Conferences and Tradeshow — Aramark Managers are nominated to attend conferences to grow their operation, establish networking and learn from the best. Some of these conferences are Aramark coordinated while others are Developmental Conferences showcasing the most sought-after speakers on the circuit.
